On Mission: Now What? – The On Mission for The Church Alive! initiative is entering a new phase as we continue planning and working for the future of the Church of Pittsburgh. The On Mission Commission, a group of over 80 clergy, religious and lay members from across the diocese are studying the proposed parish groupings and considering the feedback gathered from recent parish surveys and town hall meetings. The Commission will offer recommendations that will eventually be shared with Bishop Zubik, who will make the ultimate determination. While final decisions have yet to be made, they are being discerned based upon the input you have provided. Visit onmissionchurchalive.org to learn more about your parish grouping and to stay informed

Prayer for On Mission for The Church Alive!

Father of Mercy, As we journey On Mission for The Church Alive!, endow us with your gifts of  collaboration, courage and compassion. Help us to fulfill the Mission of Jesus and His Church through vibrant parishes and effective ministries. Raise up selfless, energetic leaders to serve the Church in fidelity and with care. May we, the Church of Pittsburgh, in Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Greene, Lawrence and Washington Counties, be sustained and strengthened by your grace. Help us to learn Jesus, to love Jesus and to live Jesus. Hear this prayer and grant it through Jesus Christ our Lord, with the help of our dear Blessed Mother, under the mantle of her love, AMEN

The RCIA is intended to bring those who have never been initiated and those who wish to complete their initiation, into full communion with the Church through liturgy, catechesis and community. If you know of any individual, or if you yourself, are interested in knowing more about the RCIA process, please call Katie Grella at 412-897-0847 or email her at kgrella@stanneparish.com.

As you await the birth of your new baby, it would be a good time to prepare for his/her Baptism! Our next Baptism Classes will be Thursday, August 10th at 7:00pm and Sunday, November 5th at 9:30am, in the convent dining room. This informative program will familiarize you with the Sacrament and help to make your infant’s Baptism a meaningful and memorable experience. To register, please call the parish office. Please remember this class is required by the Diocese; you need only attend it with your first child.
